What is White Chicken Pulao?

White chicken pulao dish is a perfect combination of rice and chicken. This dish has very mild spices, apart from that it is very tasty and delicious and if we say in other words, it is also budget-friendly but it is an amazing dish, you must try it as I have mentioned, in the same method, then you will definitely love it.

Ingredients for White Chicken Pulao:

  • 1. Chicken (boneless or with bones) – 500 grams 
  •  2. Basmati Rice – 1 cup (washed and soaked for 20-30 minutes) 
  •  3. Onion – 1 large, thinly sliced
  •  4. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
  •  5. Green Chilies – 6-7, slit
  •  6. Yogurt – 2 tablespoons
  •  7. Ghee (clarified butter) – 2 tablespoons 
  • 8. Oil– 2 tablespoons
  • 9. Cinnamon Stick – 1-inch piece
  • 10. Cloves – 2-3
  • 11. Green Cardamom – 2
  • 12. Bay Leaves – 2
  • 13. Black Peppercorns – 5-6
  • 14.cumin seed _1/2 tsp
  • 15. star anise (chakri fool) _1
  •  16 .Salt – as per taste
  •  17 Water – 2 cups (for cooking rice) 
  •   18. Coriander Leaves – for garnishing
  •   19. Mint Leaves – for garnishing

Preparation Steps for White Chicken Pulao:

Rice Preparation

First of all we will wash the Basmati rice with water at least three times, then finally we will leave the rice to soak in water for at least half to one hour so that the rice will be very fluffy and good.

Washing the chicken

wash the chicken with water and finally soak this washed chicken in luke warm water with a teaspoon of salt and vinegar or lemon juice .soak it in this mixture fo 10 minutes so that the any bad smell from the chicken goes off.after ten minutes The chicken  should be cleaned with clean water for 2 – 3 times .

Frying chicken

Take a pan and add oil in it. When the oil becomes hot, add a medium sized onion finely sliced ​​​​in it and fry it till it becomes light brown. Then add washed chicken in it and fry till the chicken becomes tender.

Frying masala

Now take a pan or pressure cooker, add oil in it, then add sliced ​​onions and green chillies and sauté them, then add all the whole spices and keep frying till the onions turn brown. Then add ginger garlic paste in it and fry till the masala is cooked well.

Adding chicken and yogurt

Now in the masala prepared above, we will add fried chicken and yogurt and fry it well for at least 5-7 months on medium flame.

Adding rice

Now we will add soaked basmati rice in the upper prepared chicken and add hot water. At this point you add salt and adjust it according to your taste, then set the lid of the cooker and if cooking in a pan then set the lid of the pan and steam it for 15 minutes in the pan and for in pressure cooker let it cook for 2 whistel .

Garnishing with coriander  and mint

Finally, when the white chicken pulao is ready, take it out in a plate and garnish it with fresh coriander and mint.

Serving suggestion

Serve this aromatic and delicious white chicken pulao with cucumber raita. Its taste enhances with this raita and it gives a refreshing taste.

Tips for the Perfect White Chicken Pulao:

1. Rice Quality: It is necessary to use Basmati rice because its long grain texture and fragrance makes your pulao the best. If you do not have basmati rice, you can use long-grain rice as well but the taste may be slightly different.

2. Chicken Type: If you use boneless chicken, the cooking time may be less. If you are using bone-in chicken, then adjust the cooking time a little.

3. Spices:This recipe is quite simple and you can adjust the spices according to your taste. If you want it a little spicy, you can add extra green chillies. If you want it more flavorful, you can add garam masala or biryani masala.
